We are excited to share the highlights from our recent School WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) program held at Government Secondary School, Gwarinpa. The event, organized by the Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Development Awareness (CESDA), took place on February 20, 2024 and focused on the theme “Eliminating Myths and Embracing Facts about Personal Body Care.”
Engagement and Interaction: The session began with an engaging introduction to the topic, inviting students to actively participate in discussions on skincare, dental care, and staying fresh and dry. The interactive approach fostered lively conversations and encouraged students to share their insights and experiences.
Discussion Points: Throughout the session, various myths surrounding personal body care were addressed, and accurate information was presented to dispel misconceptions. Topics included skincare practices, dental hygiene, and the effectiveness of deodorants and antiperspirants. Students gained valuable knowledge about proper hygiene practices and the importance of stress management in maintaining healthy skin.
Questionnaire Insights: A questionnaire distributed during the session provided valuable insights into students’ perceptions and practices related to personal body care. The feedback gathered will inform future hygiene education initiatives and help tailor our programs to better meet the needs of the students.
Engagement: The students demonstrated genuine interest and enthusiasm, actively participating in discussions, asking insightful questions, and sharing personal anecdotes. Their engagement highlighted the importance of such educational initiatives in promoting hygiene awareness and empowering students to make informed decisions about their health.
As we reflect on the success of this event, we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our school community. We look forward to continuing our efforts to promote hygiene education and empower students with knowledge for healthier lives.
Stay tuned for more updates and future initiatives from CESDA!
