The 2024 International Day of the World\u2019s Indigenous Peoples, themed \u201cProtecting the rights of Indigenous Peoples in Voluntary Isolation and Initial Contact,\u201d is a crucial reminder of the ongoing struggles faced by indigenous communities around the world. For organizations like \u00a0CESDA, which recently completed a project titled \u201cPromoting the Right of the Original Inhabitants of the FCT,\u201d this day is a call to redouble our efforts in advocating for the rights of indigenous peoples, particularly those who live in voluntary isolation.<\/p>\n

On this International Day of the World\u2019s Indigenous Peoples 2024, we come together to honor and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of indigenous peoples around the world. This year’s theme highlights the ongoing struggles and victories of indigenous communities in asserting their rights to self-determination, land, and resources.
