Center for Environmental Sustainability & Development Awareness
The Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Development Awareness, CESDA is a non-profit, non-partisan civil society organization founded in 2016 as a response to call for good governance and protection of Nigeria Environment and its natural resources.
CESDA was later registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC in 2019 to among other mandates, engage governance and sustainable development process in Nigeria. CESDA main thrust is to promote civic responsibility, enhancement of good standard of living through policy advocacy and obligation for deepening and sustaining democratic development in Nigeria. In achieving its set objectives, CESDA employs civic education, stakeholders engagement, advocacy and observation of the electoral process, research and documentation, information sharing and grassroots organizing.
CESDA’s main thrust is to promote civic responsibility, enhancement of good standard of living through advocacy for environmental policies and obligation for deepening and sustaining democratic development in Nigeria. In achieving its set objectives, CESDA employs civic education, stakeholders engagement, advocacy and campaign, observation of the electoral process, research and documentation, information sharing, seminars, workshops, grassroots organizing, and networking.
CESDA is set out to collaborate with stakeholders and civil society organizations with a proven commitment to development and sustenance of good governance in Nigeria.
The Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Development Awareness was registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria with certification number: CAC/IT/NO 141343.

The aims and objectives of the organization work include the following:
- To encourage and promote sustainable environment, development and good governance
- To develop integrity in the accountability process by monitoring and reporting on the governance process and implementation of government programs
- To promote accountability, transparency and responsiveness among political leaders and the public sector
- To encourage and promote citizens’ participation especially of women, vulnerable and other marginalized groups in the governance process
- To provide civic education and capacity enhancement programs for public institutions
- To encourage wider dissemination of voter/civic materials;
- To advocate for the promulgation of human rights-compliant and people- oriented legislations
